RECIPE:   At the Princess Ave. Party last Saturday, one of the popular items was made by Jackie Barker.  We asked her for the recipe and print it below so we can all enjoy it:

        1/2 cup brown sugar
        2 tbsp. cornstarch
        1/2 tsp. salt
        1/4 cup vinegar
        1/4 cup water
1 No. 2 can, sliced beets, drained
Combine the brown sugar, cornstarch and salt in a saucepan.  Add the vinegar and 1/4 cup water, stirring until well mixed.  Cook over medium heat until thickened, stirring constantly.  Add beets to the sauce and serve hot.  Thank you, Jackie, for sharing this recipe with us.  Now we can all make, and enjoy, it.

THOUGHTS:   As of April 1, I have owned our home at KGC for 23 years.   These have been some of the happiest years of my life.  As I write frequently, the lifestyle here is great - wonderful people, great programs and activities, and (usually) great weather.  Today as I write this, Fred is in the hospital, but we pray he will be fine again soon and also able to enjoy KGC!      --SJB
