Vol. XX, No. 47 King's Gate Club - a 55+ community, Nokomis, Florida November 29, 2008

HEALTHLINE:   Lucille Anderson, 262 Camelot Dr. telephoned to say her daughter is gravely ill.   Lucille has requested that we keep her in our prayers.   Lucille needs some cheering up at this time, so send her a card to show her we care and are praying for her daughter.   They may be sent to:   Lucille Anderson c/o Scott Patterson, 4040 Brewster Drive, Westlake OH 44145

THANK YOU to the ladies of the Prayer Shawl group, and especially to the lady who made the shawl given to me.   It is lovely and I'll certainly put it to good use.   The little prayer and note enclosed with the shawl was so nice, it helped to pick up my day.   Also, thanks to Rae Burmaster for delivering it.       Jeanne Steele

A SPECIAL THANKS to Jim Purkey and Jessica Prentice who chaired the Saturday morning Round Table meetings while George Agricola had to be away.

HEARTFELT THANK YOU:   Beverly Gulsby wishes to thank all of you for your prayers and thoughts during her recent health problems.   Incidentally, she got a good report this past Tuesday, but would like you to continue your prayers for her.   Beverly is a member of our Maintenance-Custodial staff.   Beverly and her son spent time on Thanksgiving working at the Salvation Army....a wonderful way to show how grateful she is.

HI EVERYONE:   Betty and I want to wish all of you a Very Happy Thanksgiving!! We want to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their prayers, cards, and notes. They really helped us to get through a very difficult summer and fall.   We have so much to be Thankful for ourselves. After a partial cornea transplant in May my sight has returned to normal. After a near fatal heart attack in July, Betty is home making some progress albeit slow. She has completed her physical therapy for which she is happy. She has had a persistent cough for several weeks, but seems to be getting better. She spent two days in the hospital a couple weeks ago and they feel it is being caused by congestive heart failure. They made some adjustments to her medications and she is now sleeping at night, doing her daily exercise, and doing light house work.   We also have a new grandson.   Our youngest son and his wife adopted a Guatemalan boy last March.   He is now one and half and full of life.   We will not be going to Florida this winter. We have to keep Betty close to her doctors and work on improving her health. Shoveled my first snow today. It sure has been cold here the last 10 days.       Love, Roger and Betty Nicely
