THANK YOU: Dear King's Gaters: Thank you for showing so much kindness and concern to me during and since my recent shoulder replacement surgery. Your prayers, cards, food, visits and phone calls were greatly appreciated. Your love and support has certainly made my road back to recovery much smoother.
Again, many thanks. Tom Potts
THANK YOU: A BIG thank you to all my friends for the cards, prayers, visits and phone calls during my recent surgery and recovery. This is a wonderful place to live. Alice Higgins
FELLOW KINGSGATORS: Once again I have had the experience of receiving the warmth and sympathy of you all. Can't thank you enough for the cards, prayers and well wishes that I received during my recent hospitalization. Just confirms what Trudy and I have said many times over, that joining this Club was one of the best decisions we have made during our life. Thanks again, Paul and Trudy Graney
SYMPATHY: Our deepest sympathy to the Mother of Karen Swanson (who serves on the Newsletter staff) who passed away on June 12, 2008 in Peekskill, NY. Her name was Rosalind Hill Tandy and a longtime resident of 37 Crown Point in Kings Gate Park. She and her husband Vince were very involved with the Park and its activities. A loving Mom and Grandmom, she leaves behind 3 children, 15 grandchildren, 29 great and 2 great-great grandchildren.
(I know there are a few still left in the Park who may remember her. Thanks and God bless. Karen)
LIBRARY ADDITIONS: Two AB (or Audio Books) added to our collection. A CD by Louis L'Amour of two short stories Love and the Cactus Kid & Medicine Ground and True to Form by E. Berg on cassette. A mystery Her Royal Spyness by Rhys Bowen and a fiction book about Ireland by Anne Enright, The Gathering.
Inventory is over. We have about 400 books missing from our collection that have not been signed out but have disappeared off our shelves to who knows where. Over a period of 3 years we have made out cards for every book on our shelves. It is disturbing to find so many books just vanishing into thin air. Please keep on signing out and returning our remaining books.
