Question:   Why isn't the book I donated to the library on the shelf?
Answer:   Due to limited space on the library shelves, we have 1,970 volumes presently; we only accept books from 2006 copyright on.   It might be a duplicate copy of what we already have on the shelf.   No book is wasted; we put them in the book fair section of the fair. The book fair makes $600 to $700 from our books.
Please ask me about any concerns you have about the library, you know where to find me.       ---Barb Tompkins

LIBRARY:   New books and Audio books added to our shelves this week:   The Burnt House by Faye Kellerman (M KEL);   The Marriage Game by Fern Michaels (F MIC);   Absolute Fear by Lisa Jackson (M JAC);   The Complete Book of Duplicate Bridge by Norman Kay (795.415 KAY);   Contract Bridge The Point System Explained, How to Play It  by Ewart Kempson (795.415 KEM);   Children of God by Mary Doria Russell (AB RUS cassette abridged);   Miracle on the 17th Green by James Patterson (AB PAT cassette);   Superstitious by R. A Mother's Love Determines How

A mother's love determines how
We love ourselves and others.
There is no sky we'll ever see
Not lit by that first love.
Stripped of love, the universe
Would drive us mad with pain;
But we are born into a world
That greets our cries with joy.
How much I owe you for the kiss
That told me who I was!
The greatest gift--a love of life--
Lay laughing in your eyes.
Because of you my world still has
The soft grace of your smile;
And every wind of fortune bears
The scent of your caress.
