OUR SINCERE THANKS to all those who contributed in any way to making the Prayer Shawl Group a success. We are extremely grateful to the many nimble fingers who have wielded knitting needles or crochet hooks and to those who have donated yarn. Because of you, we have been able to be a small part in many lives. Our next meeting is the first Tuesday of February, the 5th, at 3:00 in the Card Room. All members and wanna-bees are encouraged to attend. For further information, please call Rose, 412-1988.
MEXICAN FIESTA DINNER: A large group attended the Mexican Dinner last Saturday evening. The food, which was from Mi Pueblo, was delicious. Our thanks to Mary Carpenter and Sandy Garver for chairing this fun event. Tickets were sold by Angie Richards and Patty Ray. Helping at the dinner were Judy Blow, Arlene Herbert, Charlotte Alex, Rae Burmaster, Eleanor Barth, Mickey Fournier, Mary Ann Lyford and Judy Leight. Mary Ann, Sandy, Mary and Judy spent several hours making the paper flowers -and the tables looked lovely. Jim Purkey and Jack Varty transported the food from the restaurant, and Jim Blow, Lou Herbert and Chuck Leight also helped. Ron Carpenter entertained us with lovely music appropriate to the occasion. Thanks to all of you - it was a delightful evening.
THOUGHTS: With many new people here, it is a MUST to wear your name tag to all social functions at the club. It helps our new residents and it even helps us to put names and faces together. (And especially, please wear your name tag to Welcome Night next Wednesday evening). ---SJB
