THE SPOOOOKTACULAR HALLOWEEN PARTY was a howling success.   There were 159 tickets sold.   The crowd lined up to ride the elevator down to the dungeons of the castle.   Our own DJs "The KGC Knights of the Roundtable" (Charley, Ron, and Tom) provided the music for dancing.   We had a surprise visit from King Kong.   He actually escaped from of his cage to save his friend Faye from a mean old man who was trying to attack her.
We heard the scary tale of finding the body parts of the missing Joshua Brown.  As the story was read, Joshua's body parts were passed along hand-to-hand by eight brave volunteers, with many exclamations of Yuck, Icky, Ewwww, and Oh Nooooo!
There were 15 outstanding entries in the pumpkin decorating contest.  Winners:  1st prize, Claire Becker; 2nd prize, Charlene Joyce; and 3rd prize, Maureen Fitzgerald.
Many Trick or Treaters came in costume and joined the Witches' Costume Parade.  Winners:  1st prize, Jim and Beverly Purkey in the walking caskets; 2nd prize, Joan Potts as Mrs. Potts, the Tea Pot in the Beauty and the Beast movie; and 3rd prize, Roland and Gloria Carey as the Devil and an Angel.
Finger foods brought by Ghosts and Goblins were delicious and helped everyone survive the spooky evening.  Click on the following address www.kgc.cc/activities/2009/halloween/ to see lots of party photos and a few of the pre-party preparations.
Many thanks to everyone who helped before, during, and after the party.  We couldn't have done it without you!
---Tom & Martha Hicks, Ron and Mary Carpenter, and Chuck & Sandy McIntyre
