HEALTHLINE: Harley Leach recently suffered a heart attack, was in the hospital and doing okay. He came home but then filled with fluid. Bill Hildreth, 306 Ave of Dukes, has been transferred from Venice Hospital to Sunset Lake Rehab Center, for intensive physical therapy. We thank all of you who have sent cards or messages of good wishes, and Bill would welcome visitors at this time. ---Alice Hildreth
Ernie Auerbach is doing well. IV's are out, and he's on a soft diet. The doctor hopes to release him early next week. Prayers and cards are appreciated. ---Judy Auerbach
KGC BOOK CLUB will hold its first meeting of the season on Monday, Oct. 26 at 1:00 PM, in the Book and Game Room. Pat Cavalier will lead the discussion of "The Reading Group: A Novel", by Elizabeth Noble. Publishers Weekly described this United Kingdom bestseller as a frothy page-turner that dissects the relationships, desires and discoveries of five English women, all members of a book club. HALLOWEEN: All of you Ghosts and Goblins out there in KGC, we invite you to the Spook-tacular Halloween Party and Dance on Saturday, Oct. 31, from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM, in the dungeons of the Castle. Bring along appetizers or finger foods to share, and bring your own beverage. We invite you to come as your favorite Halloween character. Prizes will be awarded for costume and makeup at the Witches' Parade. Music will be played by the "Knights of the Roundtable." Dancing, singing, costumes, pumpkins, fun and a few surprises thrown in. Before Oct. 31, create a carved or painted pumpkin. Bring your pumpkin to the Oct. 31, Saturday morning meeting, to be judged and put on display. You may win a cash prize for your creation. Dec. 19-20th, 2009 -- Christmas in Ocala. This is an overnight, something new this year to get you in the holiday spirit. We will spend the day at Silver Springs; then if you want to rest in the afternoon; the bus will return you to the hotel. In the evening, we will return to Silver Springs for a wonderful turkey dinner, and view the festival of lights. Sunday a.m., we will have breakfast at Arthur's, in the hotel, and go the Carriage Museum and stop at Russell Stover's outlet on the return. $199.00 per person, based on double occupancy.
