HAPPY FATHER'S DAY to all King's Gate fathers!

OUR DEEPEST SYMPATHIES to Pat, and the entire Sellner family, following the June 12th passing of John Sellner of 247 Ave. of Barons.   A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated Thursday, June 18, at Epiphany Cathedral, with burial in the Sarasota National Cemetery.   Memorial donations may be made to Our Lady of Mount Carmel, 425 S. Tamiami Trail, Osprey FL   34229.

NOTICE:   The walkways and patio on the pool side of the clubhouse will be resurfaced starting Monday, June 22, 2009 for about ten (10) days.   When you go the clubhouse, or the office, you will need to go either through the kitchen door or the clubhouse doors on the northwest side.   The two gates to the pool, nearest the clubhouse, will be locked.   Please use one of the other three pool gates.   The ice machine will be temporarily moved to the area near the kitchen door.   We apologize for the inconvenience.      --Charles Clotfelter, KGC Manager

KGC 4TH of JULY POTLUCK:   The Firecracker 500 will begin at 3:00 PM for fun and games; dinner at 5:30 PM.   Firecracker 500 car race - bring your quarters!   Patriotic Sing-along and Entertainment!   Tickets on sale Sat. morning - $5:00 each.   Create a patriotic hat to wear, and judges will award points for best hats.   Come and celebrate the 4th of July with friends and family.   Bring along a dish to share with others, as well as your personal tableware.   Chicken and dessert will be furnished.   BYOB.       --Tom and Martha Hicks

KUDOS to Tom and Martha for planning and chairing the 4th of July Potluck!   It sounds like a very fun event!

KGC OHIO GET TOGETHER - 23 King Gaters and two guests met in Columbus on June 17th to enjoy the relationship that develops in King's Gate.   The day was spent at Schmidt's Sausage House, for lunch, and the Franklin Park Conservatory for the Blooms and Butterflies tour.       --Bob and Betty Winchester

      Sept. 2009 Cruise is Best of the Baltic, with Princess Cruises: two nights in Denmark, as well as Scandinavia, Russia and Oslo, Norway.   All details are on the web page and the travel board in the clubhouse.   We have 34 scheduled to travel with us, and we would love to have you join us.   Please give it some consideration.  There will be a document party on Aug. 13, 2009 at 1:00 PM for those who are traveling from King's Gate Club.  A light lunch will be served.  Place: 70 King Arthur Drive.  Any questions give us a call, 484-6807; mark your calendars.

      Feb. 20-27, 2010: Oasis of the Sea is one of the newest and largest ships; it offers a zip line, skating rink, ice shows, water shows and a real experience on the Royal Caribbean ship.   For more information, check the travel board and the web page, www.kgc.cc; click on the ship.   You don't even have to leave the ship; just enjoy.   At the present time, we have 29 that have reserved cabins.   Prices on Oasis of the Sea cruise change all the time.   It is best if you call VIP World Travel, when you are ready to book, and see what the best price is and what cabins are available.   If you have any travel needs, we appreciate you checking with VIP World Travel first and compare prices; they will do the best for you.   Be sure and let them know you are from King's Gate Club.   Call VIP World Travel at 377-0017 (or 1-800-323-7448, nationwide), and ask for Sue or Allan.
