News If chocolate comes from cocoa beans, and all beans are vegetables, shouldn't chocolate be considered a vegetable?

ORCHIDS to Gigi Conway for arranging the Easter Buffet at the Holiday House.   Well attended and much enjoyed!

KIND WORDS:   As you know, Alan Holdway recently lost his mother.   He penned the following thoughts...

"Mum, we thank you for everything you did for us,
For teaching us not to forget to say please and thank you.
For always encouraging us to strive to be the best we can be.
In tough times remain strong, never give in and keep your sense of humor.
And to look on the bright side, there's always a silver lining."

What a wonderful tribute to your "Mum", Alan, and I know she was equally proud of you.       -- SJB

THANKS to Vernon Crane for building the cart for the new "cribbage" tables.   It was hardly mentioned that this was needed, and the cart was built and ready for use.

NEW OWNERS:   Welcome to Ed and Teresa Coleman (and Gerry Coleman) who have purchased 178 Princess Ave.   Ed and Teresa are from Valhalla, NY, and Gerry is already a resident here.   We hope you enjoy many happy years in King's Gate Club!

COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT:   Have been writing about people doing good deeds outside the Club.   Today I want to highlight the work that is done here in the Club by Mike McDonald.   He is a retired plumbing contractor and his pet projects here are the water and sewer plants.   I'm told that if you see a hole in the ground, you will probably find Mike in it, repairing a broken pipe.   Mike is very "low-key" and never wants any thanks for the volunteer work he does here - but - we do all THANK YOU!   (There are many others who work here, too, and we'll "catch up" with them in the future).       -- SJB

THOUGHTS:   We've had some excellent speakers come into the Club to speak to us on various subjects, such as Identity Theft, and the Sergeant from the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office who spoke on safety issues. These speakers are very informative, and hope we will continue to have speakers come in to talk with us in future seasons.       -- SJB
