FAMILY NEWS:   John Mazan, brother of Betty Kundrot, 272 Camelot Dr., passed away December 22, 2003.

PANCAKE BREAKFAST:   Next Friday, January 2, 2004, will be the New Year's Pancake Breakfast.  Come any time between 7:30 and 9:00 AM on Friday morning.  Bring any holiday guests with you.            --- Bill Barth

JANUARY POTLUCK DINNER:   Tickets for the January 17th "Hillbilly Heaven" Potluck Dinner go on sale January 3, 2004.  Music will be by Ralph Shannon.  The first week of ticket sales will be sold only to residents of KGC.  Any questions, call Rae Burmaster or Chris Townsend, Co-Chairmen.

CHRISTMAS RECOGNITION:   Golf Cart Parade:  Mike and Betty McDonald - 1st Place, Fred and Janet Lewis - 2nd Place, Ed and Irene West - 3rd Place.   Home Decoration Awards:  Rich and Jean Davis - 1st in Home Decoration, John and Sandra Eade - 2nd Place, Loretta Brian - 3rd Place.    Thanks to George Ray for arranging these events and to everyone who helped and participated.  Thanks also to Bob and Shirley Froehlich for their wonderful portrayal of Santa and Mrs. Claus, to Irene Bette for her musical entertainment, and to the KGC line dancers for their performance.  About a dozen grandchildren received gifts from Santa and then sang for us.  The festive evening was topped off with tasty sandwiches, other hors d'oeuvres, and lots of delicious cookies.   Click here to see photos of the Parade and Santa's Party on the King's Gate Club web page (

LUMINARIES:   Thank you for all the helping hands that assembled Luminaries last Saturday.  A special thanks to Joe Spears for getting the boxes, to Jack Gregory for driving the delivery wagon, and to the Delivery Captain, Kerrie Morawa.   This year the McIntyres and their kids and grandkids volunteered to do the bridge and Clubhouse block, and the DeWalts did along the Tennis courts.   We hope everyone enjoyed the beauty on Christmas Eve of all our efforts.

YOGA:   There's a sign up sheet on the bulletin board for a new Yoga Class starting January 7, 2004.  This class will be on Wednesdays from 4:00 - 5:00 PM.  The cost for the six weeks class is $24.00 payable in advance and is non-refundable.  If you are new to Yoga, you will need to purchase a Sticky Mat for the class.  Men are welcome.  Each class is limited to 20 people.  Any questions, please contact Jean Ickes at 488-8967.
