HEALTHLINE:
Betty Winchester thanks you all for the visits, cards, food and flowers you gave her.  She broke her arm at our New Year's Eve party and is healing well.
A King's Gate resident is offering 22 Vioxx 25 mg pills which are sealed doctor's samples.  If you are taking this prescription drug and would like to have these, free of charge, call Emily Keele.  First come basis.
Justin & Betty Mohr appreciate the prayers and well-wishes sent after her surgery.  And they thank you for having kept them so well fed.

NEW YORK - NEW JERSEY LUNCH:   Last call for the New York - New Jersey Lunch Buffet to be held at the Marco Polo Buffet and Grill on Thursday, January 16th, 2003, at 12:00 noon.   The cost per person will be $7.55, which will include buffet, non-alcoholic beverage,  tax and gratuity. Separate checks will be provided.  Please wear your name tags.  Please sign up on the sheet at the bulletin board.  Any questions, call the Barths, 485-9714.  Hope to see you all there!

KGC-101 Study Group, Tuesday, 9:30AM:   On Tuesday, January 14, at 9:30 AM (new time), in the Ceramics Room, the group will review the ByLaws of KGC.  Twenty-one persons reviewed the Articles of Incorporation at the first meeting last Tuesday.  If you can, bring a set of the ByLaws with you. (They are available on the kgc.cc web site.)  Anyone and everyone is welcome.  An Attempt will be made to find an answer to every question relating to operations of  KGC.

JANUARY POTLUCK is on January 18, 2003, entitled "Purple People Party".   Potluck tickets for the January dinner are on sale today,  $4.00 per person.   Nip Barker is working  on a repeat from over three years ago---From his Momma's Recipe Book---My Uncle Herman's Simply Scrumptious "SPECIAL TEXAS MEATLOAF" made with the finest beef, pork, and a little bit of turkey, served with "Mashed Taters and Come-Back Gravy."   Please wear something purple, if  possible.   Bring your dinner service and a dish to share with 12-16 people.   If the tickets don't sell out, you may purchase tickets for house guests or other guests the next week.         --- Louise Eichenlaub

SUPER BOWL PARTY:   Social at 5:30, eat at 6:00; game starts 6:30.  Tickets on sale today.  This year we will have chili and hot dogs, cheese and crackers and more.  Super Bowl pool tickets are also on sale.  See you all there.

KGC TRAVEL:   Need your help for ticket sales to "Kiss Me Kate" at Broadway Palm Dinner Theater matinee March 9 at $52 per person.  Have sold 34 to date.  I have reserved 88 seats.  HELP!!!  Deadline for sales is 2/22.  Ten more for one bus - minimum 30 more for second bus.  HELP!!!
Also, "Sailor Circus" on March 28.  Our deadline for sales and payment to School is February 28.  Tickets are $10 this year.  We have reserved 176 seats; have sold 24 tickets to date.  This may be the last year we sponsor sales to Sarasota School's "Sailor Circus" if we don't get more participation.

K.G.C. SOLO CLUB   meeting Thursday, Jan. 30th, 5 o'clock at Landmark Restaurant, 133 S. Tamiami Trail (Bus. 41), Venice.  Order from 8 Early Bird Specials, $8.95, plus 18% gratuity.  Mixed drinks, $3.50, draft beer, $1.50.  We are having a private room.  Many of you have asked, "When are we going to have a get-together?"  This is your club, please, sign up and bring a Solo friend.  Any questions or need a ride, call me, Dick Bartlett, 485-1039.

55 ALIVE:   Drivers Safety Class, January 30th,  and 31st.  1 PM to 5 PM each day.  This class is sponsored by the Round Table and AARP.  Details and sign up sheet on the counter in the Clubhouse.   Anyone interested in other classes, please contact Harry Kiel at 488-6670 for location and dates.

DINNER CLUB:   Sign up NOW for the Dinner Club which will meet one evening each in February, March and April.  Menus are simple, eight people at each home, and a great way to meet new people.  Any questions, see Rae Burmaster or call her, 412-9224.

BOOK CLUB:   January selection will be "Joy Luck Club" by Amy Tan.   Next meeting will be Monday, January 27th  at 1 PM in the Library.  Bring suggestions for a Book List for next year.

TENNIS PARTY:   The Annual Tennis Spaghetti Dinner for PAST, PRESENT and FUTURE KGC tennis players is scheduled for Saturday, February 1.   A sign-up sheet is at the gazebo with additional details.
